Rotary Club of Warwick organised a day out on Wednesday, June 8th, for 40 local youngsters to join 5,000 children, from all over the West Midlands, at Drayton Manor Theme Park, near Tamworth.
The Mayor of Warwick – Cllr Christine Cross, joined Jon Wassall, Rotary President, at the Homebase store, Emscote Road, Warwick, early on Wednesday morning to greet the children and their teachers, and excitement mounted as the coach prepared to set off.
Every year Rotary the charity “Kids Out” organise a day of fun and happiness for disabled and under-privileged children. Drayton Manor proves a hit, and this year the park was closed to the public for the Rotary event, as 5,000 children and carers had the time of their lives.
With the weather hot and sunny, the park was soon full of the screams of children having fun, with the older and braver kids on the bigger rides such as G Force and Maelstrom. Younger children found plenty to do in the park’s Thomas Land™ attraction, and all agreed they’d had a great day.
