President Alan Bailey & Secretary Jackie Crampton toured the refurbished MacGregor Unit on Friday to see the equipment funded by the club.
Whilst Rotarian Graham Suggett was being treated at the hospital he heard about plans to refurbish the children’s ward. The club had just been left a legacy by Rotarian Trevor Jones and this matched the need for £8,000 worth of sensory play equipment.
Below are the pictures of the donor board, as well as two of the rooms fitted with the sensory equipment. Also a couple of pictures of the unit with superb decoration.
Many of the children there suffer from mental health issues, the larger room has calming lighting, heavy furniture and computer games for the older children to play music and find distraction whilst spending time for treatment. We were moved by the thought which had gone into the project, and we are immensely grateful for the gift which enabled it to be furnished.
