Warwick Lights of Love 2013
November 11, 2013 @ 8:00 am - December 25, 2013 @ 5:00 pm
Once again the Christmas Tree in Warwick Market Place during the festive season will be illuminated with Lights of Love.
The annual Lights of Love appeal has been launched by the Rotary Club of Warwick, and the lights on the tree will be switched on by the Mayor on Thursday November 28th at 7pm as part of the Victorian evening celebrations.
People can dedicate a message remembering someone special who cannot be with them this Christmas. It could be a relative, a friend, someone who is abroad, or a loved one who has died. You are invited to get involved by making a donation to put a message on the tree, and all contributions will be used to support local charities. Last year over 400 names and messages were donated raising over £2,500 and this enabled the club to make donations to many local charities including the South Warwickshire Heart Failure Education and Rehab trust, and the Huntington’s Disease Association, as well as the Mayor’s charity.
Organiser John Fletcher said “We never forget those we have lost, or who are not with us, but Christmas makes us eve more aware. Putting their names and a message on the tree is a tangible way of remembrance which also serves those around us who need our support”.
Donation forms are available from members of Warwick Rotary Club or from the Warwick Visitor’s Centre, and when completed should be handed in to any of the following:
Claridges of Warwick, 25 Market Place, Warwick.
Torry’s Hardware & DIY , 30-34 West Street, Warwick
Warwick Post Office, Shire Hall, Warwick
You are reminded that your donation can be worth even more if you are able to Gift Aid it.
